Huckabee attends screening of ‘The Bridge,’ about Israelis finding joy through music after Oct. 7
For the Israeli participants, the trip to Los Angeles' legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp was about reclaiming parts of their lives that had become inaccessible after October 7.
"The Bridge," a documentary about ten Israeli survivors of the October 7 attacks who found healing through music at the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp in Los Angeles, recently screened at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. The film, directed by Brad Allgood and produced by Kevin S. Bright, follows the participants as they rehearse and perform with veteran rock musicians, reclaiming joy after their traumatic experiences. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, an avid musician, attended the screening and remarked, "Music has the power to take our worst moments and help us to put them behind us." The documentary also highlights how the camp fostered understanding and support for Israel among American participants, with founder David Fishof noting, "It was just so amazing to see how we changed all these people's visions about Israel." The experience was transformative for the Israelis, many of whom had stopped playing music after the attacks, and inspired plans to bring the Rock Camp to Israel.
