Hundreds of Jewish residents protest outside of NYC Mayor Mamdani's home

Hundreds of Jewish residents and community leaders protested outside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's home to express support for Israel and highlight rising antisemitism in the city. The demonstration followed an increase in attacks on Jews, including a stabbing and synagogue disruption. Rabbi Benjamin Kraus stated, "We are here. This is the largest city in the Diaspora, and we are not going anywhere." Organizers aimed for students to proudly display their Jewish and Zionist identities. Mayor Mamdani welcomed the protesters, stating, "They have a place to do it outside the Gracie Mansion," though he indicated he would be elsewhere. The protest occurred days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's UN visit, despite Mamdani previously calling for Netanyahu's arrest.
