‘I have no other country, by choice’: Lone soldier wounded on Oct. 7 to perform Israeli classic

Moshe Marwick, a U.S.-born lone soldier seriously wounded on October 7, will perform the Israeli classic “I Have No Other Country” at an appreciation event for “Brothers and Sisters for Israel — Civilian Operations Center.” Marwick, 24, from Baltimore, immigrated to Israel at 16 and enlisted in the Nahal Brigade. On October 7, he fought terrorists at the Sufa outpost, sustaining shoulder and hip injuries but continuing to fight. He states, “I have no other country, by choice. I was even privileged to fight for it and be wounded.” After rehabilitation, he joined the “Song for the Road” project, created by “Brothers and Sisters for Israel” and the Rimon School of Music, which pairs students with wounded soldiers. Marwick will perform with singer Hadar Strauss, 25, as part of his healing process. The event will highlight the organization’s civilian work since October 7.
