'I killed a person:' TLV court sentences Solomon Madmon to life for murder of family member

The Tel Aviv District Court sentenced Solomon Madmon to life in prison on Thursday for the aggravated murder of Yosef Yosefia, his daughter-in-law's father. Madmon was also ordered to pay compensation to Yosefia's children. The murder occurred on June 18, 2022, following the separation of Madmon's son and Yosefia's daughter. Madmon had sent threatening messages to Yosefia prior to the incident, stating, "I swear on my parents' grave, you will pay." On the day of the murder, Madmon obtained a handgun, drove to Yosefia's Ramat Gan apartment building, and shot him six times in the face and upper body in the hallway. He later called Magen David Adom, admitting, "I killed a person." Attorney Lihi Meltzman emphasized that the sentence reflects the "extreme severity of Madmon's actions."
