IAF kills another Hamas terrorist who held hostages in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced on Saturday that they killed Hamas company commander Anas Mahmoud Ahmed Hamdan in an airstrike in Khan Yunis on Thursday. Hamdan was involved in holding Israeli hostages abducted on October 7, 2023, and was responsible for documenting staged hostage release ceremonies. He also served as an aide to senior Hamas figures like Mohammed Deif and Rafaa Salameh, and was involved in the 2015 captivity of Avera Mengistu. The IDF stated, “Recently, Hamdan trained Hamas terrorists and worked to advance terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. The terrorist posed a threat to IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip and was eliminated in a precise aerial strike.” This elimination follows the killing of Hamas platoon commander Nihad Arouq and the destruction of four Hamas weapons storage facilities earlier in the week.
