International Criminal Court (ICC) member states voted to dismiss prosecutor Karim Khan on Friday, following allegations of sexual misconduct. Diplomatic sources, speaking anonymously, reported that 82 of the court's 125 member states supported his removal. Khan, 56, denied the allegations, with his lawyers calling the decision unlawful and unsupported by evidence. Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, stated that the international community rejected Khan's attempt "to scapegoat Israel in an attempt to divert from his own misconduct." Khan's dismissal triggers the election process for a new prosecutor, though active ICC warrants will remain in place as only judges can withdraw them.
