IDF eliminates Hamas drone cell chief in central Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday the elimination of Hamam Eid, the head of Hamas's drone cell in Gaza's central camps sector. Eid was killed in an airstrike on Saturday. The IDF stated that Eid "was responsible for the production of UAVs for the Hamas terrorist organization in the central camps, intended to harm Israeli civilians and IDF troops." He had previously led the Drone Unit in the central camps and participated in planning aerial attacks against IDF troops. The IDF also noted that Eid had been working to restore Hamas's aerial capabilities, violating the ceasefire agreement that went into effect on October 10, 2025. The IDF emphasized that steps were taken to mitigate harm to noncombatants during the strike and that Israeli forces remain in Gaza to eliminate any immediate threat.
