IDF intercepts missile debris after Iran attacks southern Jordan

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Sunday that its air defenses assisted in intercepting ballistic missile fragments after Iran attacked the Jordanian city of Aqaba. A military spokesperson stated, "The IDF aided in the interception of debris." No air-raid sirens were activated in Israel, though flights to and from Ramon Airport near Eilat were briefly suspended. This incident followed earlier Iranian missile and drone attacks on Jordanian military facilities on Friday, which resulted in the deaths of two U.S. service members. The U.S. embassy in Amman had previously urged Americans to avoid Aqaba's port and airport due to a "specific and credible threat," though Jordanian authorities denied any threats and confirmed normal operations.
