IDF kills senior Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Nael Abu Obeid in Gaza Strip strike

The IDF and Shin Bet announced on Tuesday the killing of Nael Abu Obeid, Hamas's Rafah Brigade commander, in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip. Abu Obeid had replaced Mohammad Shabanah, who was killed in May 2025. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "our message is clear: no terrorist is immune, and Hamas will not be in Gaza."
- Earlier on Tuesday, the IDF also killed Ahmad Batash, commander of Hamas's Jabaliya Battalion, in a strike in the northern Gaza Strip. Batash managed logistics and supplied weapons for the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades Northern Gaza Brigade.
- Last Thursday, Muhammad Yazouri, commander of Hamas's Khan Yunis Brigade, was killed in the Khan Yunis area. Yazouri was responsible for directing terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
