IDF, police readiness drills continue for second day as forces train in Eilat for Oct.7-like attack

The IDF launched Operation “Kadmat Homa” (Advancing the Wall) on Monday in the 80th Division sector near Eilat, a month before the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre. This exercise, involving air, naval, and additional security forces, aims to enhance the division's readiness against a large-scale surprise attack, drawing lessons from the October 7 events. Simultaneously, the Israel Police is conducting Operation "Southern Wind" in the same area, practicing responses to complex scenarios such as surprise attacks, multiple simultaneous incidents, and traffic control. These drills follow Operation Dawn 2.0, a surprise exercise initiated on Sunday to test the military's immediate response capabilities to large-scale attacks across various operational theaters, with commanders called up and reserve capabilities assessed.
