IDF strikes Hezbollah targets in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted strikes against Hezbollah targets in Southern Lebanon following multiple explosive drone attacks on Israeli troops in the security zone. On Sunday, two explosive drones targeted soldiers near the Ali al-Taher Ridge, prompting retaliatory strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure, including a weapons storage facility and operatives transferring weapons. No Israeli injuries were reported in the drone attacks. The IDF stated it took steps to mitigate harm to uninvolved individuals and is reviewing claims of civilian casualties. This comes after similar IDF strikes on Friday in response to another drone launched at soldiers.

“Israel will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon and the threats to the residents of the Galilee are removed,”

Defense Minister Israel Katz affirmed, highlighting the recent capture of the Ali al-Taher Ridge as a crucial step. This operation neutralized Hezbollah command-and-control tunnels, built over two decades with Iranian funding, which served as a strategic hub for attacks. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has urged international intervention.
