IDF’s West Bank chief claims settler farming outposts ‘greatly strengthen security’

Major General Avi Bluth, head of the IDF's Central Command, stated on Wednesday that illegal farming outposts in the West Bank "greatly strengthen security" in the territory. Speaking at a conference, Bluth asserted that these settlement farms "align well with the security concept. It does not contradict it." This stance aligns with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which has often overlooked or funded these outposts, despite their links to violence against Palestinian communities. Critics argue that Bluth's policies have allowed "Jewish terrorism" to escalate, with many attacks on Palestinians originating from these outposts. According to Peace Now, 120 farming outposts established since October 7 have led to the displacement of 118 Palestinian communities.
