In New Year’s greeting, Netanyahu thanks Trump for ‘historic progress’ in curbing Iran
"In the year ahead, we will continue to make the world safer for all," said the Israeli premier.
In a Jewish New Year greeting on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for “historic progress” in curbing Iran. Netanyahu stated that “Iran and its evil axis are weaker than ever, while the U.S.-Israel alliance is stronger than ever,” commending Trump’s “blockade of Iran’s evil regime and on the economic pressure brought to bear against the world’s greatest source of instability.” Trump subsequently defended his stance against Iran, claiming on Saturday that the regime was “two weeks away from having a nuclear weapon” and would have targeted Israel, the Middle East, and parts of Europe.
