Iran accuses US of striking critical infrastructure as war intensifies

Iran has accused the United States of violating and suspending the recently signed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), stating that US strikes have killed at least 50 people and injured over 500 since July 6. Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated, "The US has violated and suspended all its commitments within the framework of the Islamabad MoU," leading Tehran to likewise suspend its commitments and focus on defense. The attacks have reportedly damaged critical infrastructure, including a desalination plant, leaving 10,000 people without water. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes on US-allied Gulf states, targeting power and desalination plants in Kuwait and military sites in Bahrain and Jordan. Both sides accuse each other of violating the MoU's provision for safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, intensifying the conflict.
