Iran avoiding attack on Israel over fears of IDF strikes on regime leaders, expert says

Iran is reportedly avoiding a direct, broad attack on Israel due to fears of Israeli strikes targeting senior regime figures and vital institutions, according to Iran researcher Beni Sabti. Sabti, from the Institute for National Security Studies, stated on 103FM that "The Iranian regime fears our involvement because they know that we are going straight to the center. We are targeting the most important part and focusing on senior officials." He explained that Israel's focus on individuals and critical facilities, such as the Revolutionary Guards' internal security headquarters, deters a larger Iranian response. Sabti also noted that Iran has shifted into "terror organization mode," with some elements of the Revolutionary Guards testing Israel's limits. Additionally, he highlighted the severe impact of recent US strikes on communication towers in the region, which primarily serve the Iranian Navy and Revolutionary Guards, not the general public. Sabti concluded that revenge has become a strategic issue for Iran, potentially leading to a "blindness and extremism" that Israel could exploit.
