Iran flew Revolutionary Guard commanders, missile gear to Yemen’s Houthis — sources

Iran reportedly flew Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders, military advisers, and missile/drone equipment to Yemen on July 13, according to four sources including two Iranian sources and Yemen's information minister. The flight, operated by Mahan Air, was initially bound for Sanaa but diverted to Hodeida after the airport was attacked. The IRGC personnel, numbering between 10 and 21, were allegedly sent to support Houthi operations and provide training on new missile systems, with gold also reportedly sent to fund Houthi activities. Yemen's Information Minister, Moammar al-Iryani, stated their mission is to "strengthen the militias’ military capabilities and prepare them to threaten international maritime security in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait." The Houthis, however, denied these allegations, with a Houthi media official aboard the plane calling them "lies and fabrications" and claiming all passengers were civilians.
