Iran targets three US ships, three oil tankers in Hormuz in retaliation for US strikes, IRGC claims

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Saturday to have targeted three oil tankers and three US-affiliated ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This action was reportedly in retaliation for earlier US strikes on three Iranian oil tankers. US Central Command (CENTCOM) has not confirmed the IRGC's claims. The US strikes were in response to the IRGC launching ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of CENTCOM, stated, "If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost - taking out three of yours." Iran has threatened intensified strikes against US military vessels if the "harassment of Iranian ships and the naval blockade of Iran continue."
