Iran targets US base in Jordan, missile alert siren sounded in Bahrain

Iran announced Tuesday it targeted a U.S. air base in Jordan with ballistic missiles, claiming this was in retaliation for American strikes. Jordan's military stated it intercepted four missiles, denying an American base was hit. Simultaneously, Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, activated missile alert sirens for the third time amid claims by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that its strikes hit U.S. Patriot and air-control radars there. These Iranian actions followed a five-hour wave of U.S. Central Command strikes against Iranian military targets in various locations, including coastal defense systems and missile sites, aimed at weakening Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping. U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "We're going to hit them very hard tonight and we're going to hit them hard tomorrow." The escalation also included Iranian attacks on two Emirati tankers, killing one crew member, and Trump threatening to attack Iran's deeply buried Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site.
