Iranian army chief places $30,000 bounty on killed, captured US soldiers

Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Amir Hatami announced a $30,000 bounty for captured or killed United States service members, according to a Sunday post by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on X/Twitter. The reward, reportedly from "the Iranian people," will be granted to any Iranian soldier. Hatami stated, "For every person who kills or captures and hands over an American aggressor force, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army... will receive a gift equivalent to $30,000." Women who succeed will receive double the reward, and the weapon used will be purchased at double its price and displayed in a museum. Hatami also criticized US President Donald Trump's statements about declaring the Strait of Hormuz as US territory and threatened US bases in the Middle East, asserting that Americans have been "effectively expelled" from the region.
