Iranian FM Araghchi says Trump’s ‘economic D-Day’ will bring ‘further defeat’ to US

Araghchi posted on X/Twitter, calling the US initiative a "diversion from America's own crisis: unprecedented debt & surging interest costs." He added that "US economic terrorism threatens global economy and sovereignty worldwide." This statement followed Trump's declaration on Truth Social that the US would launch "the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country" to isolate Iran, warning of "TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences" for any country aiding Iran. US Special Envoy Jared Kushner also indicated that Trump prioritizes economic pressure over military action, aiming to cripple Iran's economy and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.
