Iranian missiles fired at Aqaba; explosion sounds heard in Eilat

Iran launched missiles towards Aqaba, Jordan, approximately five kilometers from Eilat, Israel. US air defense systems intercepted several missiles, while two Israeli Iron Dome interceptors destroyed debris at risk of entering Israeli territory. Residents of Eilat reported hearing explosions, but no sirens were activated in the city. Earlier, the IDF identified launches from Iran and warned of potential spillover into Israel, advising the public to enter protected spaces if alerts were issued. Jordanian authorities reportedly evacuated Aqaba's international airport and seaport due to a "credible and specific threat," according to the US Embassy in Jordan, which advised US citizens to avoid these locations. However, the CEO of Aqaba Ports Company stated that the port continued to operate normally with no closures or evacuations.
