Iranian ship struck by Ukraine contained drone, missile components, Kyiv's Israel envoy reveals

Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk revealed that a ship struck by Ukraine in the Caspian Sea on Saturday contained drone and missile components destined for Iran. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the long-range strikes, targeting vessels involved in military cargo shipments with Iran. Korniychuk stated that Ukraine considers such shipments legitimate military targets and expects further strikes. Iran, however, claimed the vessel was carrying civilian goods and accused Ukraine of escalating the conflict. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the attack, stating, "Zelensky has attacked an Iranian commercial vessel, killing a sailor. A blatant UN Charter violation done at Israel's behest to drag Europe into its war." He also indicated that the action "CANNOT GO UNANSWERED." This incident follows a statement from former US President Donald Trump, who claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin assured him Russia was not supplying weapons to Iran.
