Iranian strikes damaged US bases, radar systems in region, image investigation reveals – report

A New York Times visual investigation, published Wednesday, revealed that Iranian strikes have damaged nine US-linked sites across the Middle East over the past two weeks. The investigation utilized Iranian propaganda imagery, corroborated with ground videos and blurred satellite images from NASA and the European Space Agency, to bypass US government requests for blurred satellite imagery for operational security. The damage includes living quarters, drone shelters, and radar systems. The Defense Department declined to comment, citing "operational security reasons" and an active investigation into an incident in Jordan. The report follows an Iranian attack on Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which killed four US soldiers. The investigation detailed:

• Damage to an airfield hangar and at least 20 structures at Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Air Base.
• Damage to a radar system at Kuwait's Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base.
• Minor damage at Kuwait's Ali Al Salem Air Base and a destroyed US military tent at Iraq's Erbil International Airport.

A US military official noted that nearly a dozen US soldiers injured in July attacks were flown to Germany for treatment.
