Iran's Pezeshkian tells Hamas chief that Iran will support any decision made in Gaza – report

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pledged Iran's support for any decision made by Palestinian leaders in ongoing indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, according to Iranian state media. Pezeshkian conveyed this message during a phone call with Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas' political bureau. Separately, Axios reported that officials from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) urged Hamas not to sign a disarmament agreement. This occurred during a recent visit by Hamas representatives to Iran for the funeral of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei. A senior US official also claimed Iran attempted to dissuade Hamas, but the group reportedly chose not to comply. White House Board of Peace officials noted, "Hamas had a lot of concerns. It took months of delicate negotiations to bring us to this breakthrough."
