Iran's president says interaction with supreme leader is currently 'very difficult'

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a state TV interview on Wednesday that interaction with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is "very difficult." Mojtaba Khamenei, who replaced his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has not made public appearances since becoming supreme leader. This follows a reported phone call between Pezeshkian and Hamas's political bureau head, Khalil al-Hayya, where Pezeshkian affirmed Tehran's support for Palestinian leaders' decisions in negotiations with Israel. Earlier, Iran's Tabnak media reported that Khamenei warned Pezeshkian he would accept his resignation if resubmitted. The Islamic regime reportedly avoids releasing audio of the supreme leader due to fears of revealing his location and condition, with a Tehran daily outlining five ways recordings could expose his whereabouts.
