Israel Air Force fires Iron Dome at fragments from Iranian missile launched at Jordan

On Sunday afternoon, the IDF's Iron Dome intercepted fragments of an Iranian ballistic missile launched towards Jordan, near the Israeli border. This occurred after a US Aegis system had already downed the primary missile warhead. Interceptor fragments landed in an open area near Eilat, causing no casualties or damage, though IDF sources dispute whether any fragments fell within Israeli territory. This marks the first use of Iron Dome against an Iranian aerial threat since the April 7 ceasefire. Jordan's military also intercepted three missiles, with no reported casualties or damage, and subsequently summoned Iran's Chargé d'Affaires to protest the "brutal and unjustified attacks," calling them a "flagrant violation of Jordan's sovereignty."
