Israel bets on artificial intelligence to reinvent tourism

Israel's Ministry of Tourism has launched the Travel Innovation IL community, a 1 million shekel ($330,000) initiative, to modernize the tourism sector through artificial intelligence and startup innovation. Unveiled at a Tel Aviv event, the platform aims to connect tourism companies, technology firms, startups, investors, government bodies, and academia. The initiative will focus on identifying industry challenges and fostering the development and adoption of new technological solutions. Tourism Ministry Director General Michael Izhakov stated, "Israel is an innovation powerhouse," believing the platform will link tourism needs with Israeli startups. Adam Arbel, the ministry's senior deputy director general, added that "The State of Israel can become a global travel tech powerhouse," seeing the sector as a growth engine for both tourism and the broader economy.
