Israel: Canada’s blind eye to Palestinian terrorism emboldens it

The Israeli Foreign Ministry criticized Canada for condemning Israeli community expansion in Judea and Samaria, arguing that this stance emboldens Palestinian terrorism. This came after Canada's Foreign Ministry denounced Israeli settlements as "illegal under international law and undermine prospects for peace, security and stability." The Israeli ministry highlighted a recent "wave of Palestinian terrorism" in the region, including an attack near Havat Gilad that killed two Israelis and wounded six, and another incident near Susya where an Israeli soldier was wounded and his weapon stolen. Israel's Ambassador to Canada, Iddo Moed, stated, "A Palestinian terrorist shot Israelis at point-blank range, murdering two and seriously wounding two others. Yet Canada’s response is to condemn Israel." The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs also questioned Canada's perceived double standard in its foreign policy towards Israel compared to other nations.
