'Israel doesn't have a problem with the Democratic Party, but with the American public'

Rahm Emanuel, a former White House chief of staff and current U.S. ambassador to Japan, visited Israel to deliver a stark message to its government: Israel's standing among the American public, particularly younger generations, is in severe decline. Citing a recent AP-NORC poll, Emanuel highlighted that among American Jews, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who openly criticizes Israel, had a higher favorability rating (44%) than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (32%). Emanuel, who is considering a Democratic presidential bid, emphasized that "Israel does not have a problem with the Democratic Party. Israel has a problem with the American public." He warned that support for Israel among Americans aged 30 and younger is in the 20s, which he deems "not sustainable." Emanuel criticized Netanyahu's 2015 address to Congress against the Iran nuclear deal, stating that by ignoring the Obama administration, "you lost America."
