Israel ends Venezuela quake mission, will continue assisting remotely

Israel's aid delegation to Venezuela has concluded its three-week mission after assisting with earthquake recovery efforts following twin earthquakes on June 24 that killed at least 5,069 people and injured nearly 17,000. The delegation, which included representatives from the IDF and Foreign Ministry, assessed damaged buildings and helped develop a national reconstruction plan. Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodriguez "thanked the members of the delegation for their contribution" and approved the recovery plan. Israeli expert teams will continue providing remote professional guidance. This mission also marked a diplomatic step, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noting it helped "rebuilding relations" with Caracas, nearly two decades after Venezuela severed ties with Israel.
