The Israel Festival, in collaboration with the Aner Shapira Foundation, presented "Verse," a two-night event at the Jerusalem Campus of the Arts on Tuesday and Wednesday. The event served as an artistic and cultural call to action, encouraging audiences to engage with diverse societal voices. The Aner Shapira Foundation honors Aner Shapira, a young artist and activist killed on October 7, who believed in art's power to unite and heal. "Verse" featured various performances and discussions, including "Cafe Resistance — Initiative of Hope" for social activism, the "Participatory Circus" with artistic presentations, and screenings of short films. Other highlights included a Photo Slam, the drag performance "Queendelight," and a video installation by Alex Farfuri. Musical performances by Ninet Tayeb with Berry Sakharof, and Orit Tashuma and Ehud Banai were also part of the program, alongside a special edition of the Jerusalem Story podcast.
