Israel opens first Chamber of Commerce office in Republika Srpska, Bosnia

Israel has inaugurated its first Chamber of Commerce office in Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, aiming to significantly expand economic ties. The opening was attended by Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli, outgoing Ambassador Galit Peleg, and Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, among other officials. This initiative seeks to translate close political relations into increased cooperation in trade, investment, and technology. President Dodik stated that Republika Srpska wants to raise its relationship with Israel "to the highest possible level," with the office serving as a permanent contact point for businesses. Minister Chikli emphasized that the chamber "must not be merely ceremonial – it must work" to facilitate business opportunities and access to Israeli technology and expertise. The proposal for the office originated from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an earlier meeting with Dodik.
