Israel preparing for new wave of Jewish immigration, Aliyah Ministry director-general says

Dganit Sankar-Langa, Director-General of Israel's Aliyah and Integration Ministry, stated that Israel is preparing for a new wave of Jewish immigration, despite challenges like the war and cost of living. She noted that while overall aliyah numbers haven't sharply increased, interest is growing from Jews in France, Britain, South Africa, and Australia, with a significant rise expected from France, reaching around 5,000 immigrants this year. Sankar-Langa emphasized the need for practical pathways to aliyah, including English-language academic programs, support for scientists, and early connections with employers. The ministry is actively recruiting professionals such as teachers, doctors, and experts for defense and infrastructure projects. Additionally, a new government plan will establish a support framework for immigrant soldiers, reservists, and their families after discharge, addressing gaps in assistance.
