Israel prevented many terror threats against Jews abroad over past year, NSC official tells 'Post'

A senior Israeli National Security Council official informed The Jerusalem Post that Israeli security agencies have thwarted dozens of terror plots against Israelis and Jews worldwide over the past year, with heightened vigilance ahead of the Jewish holiday season. Iran and Hezbollah are expanding their efforts, dedicating increased resources and establishing new mechanisms for global attacks. The official stated, "There are many people who wake up in the morning and their entire mission is to promote attacks against Israelis and Jews around the world." Israeli strikes inside Iran have also targeted elements involved in terrorism, changing the operational environment to allow actions within Iran itself. Cooperation with foreign governments, including those without close political ties to Israel, has been crucial, as "No country wants terrorism on its territory." Africa is emerging as a significant arena for counterterrorism efforts due to weaker security and existing extremist infrastructure. Hezbollah, viewed as a partner in Iran's broader campaign, is receiving increased attention in Israel's counterterrorism strategy.
