On Sunday, Israel released 16 Palestinian detainees into the Gaza Strip via the Kerem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem) border crossing. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) received the individuals and transported them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for medical examinations. This release is the latest amid the ongoing conflict. Palestinian and international human rights organizations allege that Israel has withheld information regarding many detained Palestinians from Gaza, denying them access to legal counsel and family.
