Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq attacked by drones despite lull in US-Iran fighting

Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Iraq reported drone attacks on Monday, despite a recent lull in US-Iran fighting. The Israel Defense Forces shot down two drones near the Dead Sea, while Saudi Arabia intercepted drones targeting petroleum facilities, claiming they were launched from Iraq by Iran-backed militias. Jordan also reported shooting down two drones, and Iraqi security sources noted drone attacks on Iranian opposition Kurdish forces in northern Iraq. These incidents occurred after US President Donald Trump suspended a two-week air campaign against Iran, which had begun on February 28 in a joint operation with Israel to destabilize the Iranian regime. Iran stated it would pause its own attacks as long as the US ceasefire continued, but maintained control of the Strait of Hormuz and denied requesting new peace talks with the US, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stating, "reports about Iran requesting negotiations with the US are fabricated."
