Israel Securities Authority Chairman: “Regulation is stuck. The market and the public can't wait."

Israel Securities Authority Chairman Sefi Zinger stated at the 16th Columbia–Ono Conference that "Regulation is stuck. The market is not waiting, investors are not waiting, and the public cannot wait either." The conference, co-hosted by Ono Academic College and Columbia Law School, focused on corporate law, governance, and financial regulation, returning after a two-year hiatus. Key figures from Israel and abroad, including Capital Markets Commissioner Amit Gal and US corporate attorney Ted Mirvis, discussed various issues such as regulatory developments for controlling shareholders and challenges for younger generations in financial planning. Commissioner Gal noted that "Generation Z does not always maintain continuous employment and does not necessarily look ahead toward retirement." Prof. Zohar Goshen concluded by emphasizing the importance of academic cooperation, even amidst global antisemitism affecting Israel's academic ties.
