Israeli aid delegation begins work in Colombia following deadly earthquake

An 80-person Israeli humanitarian delegation, the "Alliance of Brothers," began operations in Colombia on Saturday after a major earthquake. Sent at the request of Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella, the delegation is led by the IDF Home Front Command in cooperation with the Defense and Foreign Affairs Ministries. They are one of only four international rescue teams requested by Colombia, working with local professionals at multiple impacted sites, including a university hospital, to locate and rescue trapped individuals. The team is also conducting mapping efforts, building assessments, and establishing data management systems to aid response efforts. The earthquake, with its epicenter in the Chocó department, has left hundreds dead, over 4,000 injured, and approximately 400 people missing.
