Israeli drone strike kills Palestinian as troops extend occupation into southern Gaza

An Israeli drone strike in Gaza City on Friday killed Mohammed Tayseer Obeid and wounded six others in the Al-Taj building on Al-Yarmouk Street. A separate guided missile strike on Al-Muassasat Street caused no casualties. These incidents occurred as Israeli forces conducted a limited ground incursion east of Khan Younis, with armored vehicles advancing near Street 16 east of Al-Qarara before withdrawing. Artillery shelling was reported in Al-Tuffah and Jabalia in northern Gaza, and west of Rafah, while military vehicles fired towards displaced Palestinians' tents. Warships also shelled Rafah and Khan Younis. Palestinian officials state these actions violate the October 10, 2025, ceasefire, which has reportedly led to 1,127 Palestinian deaths and 3,643 injuries since its implementation.
