Israeli envoy: Germany cannot be ‘blind in its left eye’

Following the AfD's significant electoral gains in Germany, Israeli Ambassador to Berlin, Ron Prosor, emphasized the need to confront left-wing antisemitism with the same vigor as right-wing extremism. Prosor stated on X, "Germany looks to the right. It must not be blind in its left eye," arguing that left-wing antisemitism deserves the same clarity and condemnation. He cited an incident where activists tied to the left-wing party Die Linke distributed stickers with an AK-47 and the Palestinian flag to students, calling it an unacceptable act. Prosor stressed that "A firewall against antisemitism must not recognize any political direction," asserting that Jewish life and Israel's right to exist are red lines.
