Israeli experts are warning that AI is exponentially increasing cyber threats

A global coalition of over 150 cybersecurity companies, including major players like Microsoft and OpenAI, has issued a warning that artificial intelligence is dramatically escalating the speed and scale of cyberattacks. They urged governments and businesses to enhance their defenses to counter this growing threat. Omer Or, KPMG's head of cybersecurity in Israel, stated that AI is boosting offensive capabilities for all levels of threat actors, from individual hackers to state actors, providing access to tools once exclusive to governments. He noted that AI can now produce zero-day vulnerabilities "100 times more than humans can do on their own." Ariel Litmanovich, founder of Aryon Security, added that AI is not creating new attack types but rather making existing weaknesses, such as misconfigurations and weak authentication, much easier and faster to find and exploit. He emphasized that "Attackers can increasingly scan, analyze, adapt, and exploit the vulnerabilities or security issues at a speed and scale that humans cannot match manually."
