Israeli hospital to become OpenAI’s first international partner

Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, Israel, announced on Tuesday its partnership with OpenAI, becoming the AI company's first international hospital collaborator. This initiative aims to transform Sheba into a fully AI-powered hospital, providing secure access to an advanced AI platform for physicians, nurses, and researchers. The platform will synthesize medical evidence to support clinical decisions, offer access to millions of research papers with citations, and streamline administrative tasks.

"Physicians, nurses, and researchers at Sheba will now have a powerful clinical reasoning tool at their fingertips," said Professor Eyal Zimlichman, Sheba's chief innovation and AI officer.

Sheba will also contribute feedback and clinical insights to OpenAI for the ongoing development of healthcare AI technologies. The collaboration emphasizes rigorous security, ensuring OpenAI models will not train on Sheba's data and patient information remains protected, with medical decisions solely the responsibility of Sheba's healthcare professionals.
