Israeli in Athens says he was expelled from social event after revealing his identity

Rafi Rom, an Israeli resident of Athens for 12 years, claims he was expelled from a social event on Saturday night after identifying himself as Israeli and Jewish. The incident occurred at a gathering hosted by Nomad Hub Greece at the 21 Grams rooftop bar in central Athens, advertised as an international social event. Rom stated that security guards approached him, alleging he was a “security risk” and requesting his departure, despite him not causing any disturbance. He believes his removal was solely due to his identity, stating, “It is clear to me that the only reason is my background.” Rom expressed shock and humiliation, noting he had attended previous events by the same organizer without issue.
