Israeli journalists attacked in N. Ireland while filming documentary on antisemitism – interview

An i24NEWS Hebrew channel crew, including reporter Yonatan Raveh and cameraman Nadav Abbas, was attacked in Belfast, Northern Ireland, while filming a documentary on rising antisemitism in Europe. The incident occurred when a man, after overhearing them state they were from Israel, shouted "f*** Israel" and followed them. He attempted to grab their equipment and subsequently threw a beer mug at Abbas, hitting him in the head and causing a cut. Bar security intervened after the assault, but the crew opted to leave and return to Israel for Abbas's medical treatment. Raveh noted prior verbal altercations and a significant divide in Belfast regarding views on Israel, with Irish Catholics generally anti-Israel and Protestants pro-Israel. The crew had previously faced threats and forced deletion of footage in Madrid and New York.
