Israeli startup uses advanced AI for new communication alternative for verbally-challenged people

BarVox, an Israeli startup, has developed an AI-powered communication alternative for verbally impaired individuals, including those with autism spectrum disorder. Founded by Dror Levy, whose son has autism, the technology translates vocal output into personalized, understandable speech, addressing limitations of traditional AAC devices. The system, which emerged from a Hackatism hackathon, is now launching 30 new pilots and can be used as an app on smartphones or tablets.

Levy stated, "We wanted something that is much more simple," emphasizing ease of use over complicated existing devices. CMO and CFO Gil Epstein added that "the goal is only to make them feel understood."
