Israeli strikes in Syria are threat to stability, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan claims

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Thursday that Israeli strikes in Syria are a significant threat to the country's stability, claiming they target Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Speaking at a joint news conference with Syrian counterpart Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, Fidan also condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank, asserting that "Netanyahu does not want peace" and would not succeed in alleged plans to remove Palestinians from Gaza. In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar accused Turkey of decades of "violating the sovereignty of Syria while cynically lecturing others on international law," highlighting Turkey's occupation of 5% of Syria and its military campaigns in the region. Sa'ar emphasized that Israel's presence in Syria is a small buffer zone for self-protection, and that Israel would not cease protecting its security.
