Israeli teens take the UN stage for World Youth Skills Day

Ten Israeli teenagers from the Tzofim Friendship Caravan performed at UN headquarters in New York City on July 16 for World Youth Skills Day 2026, whose theme is “Skills for a Shared Future.” The group performed six songs for over 50 attendees as part of their annual summer tour of North America. Prior to their performance, the teens met with Dr. Felipe Paullier, the UN's assistant secretary-general for Youth Affairs, to discuss the impact of AI on youth, the role of young people in global institutions, and their role as young Israelis post-October 7. Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, stated, “Israel’s young generation is one of our nation’s greatest strengths. Today, their talent, spirit and love for their country were on full display.” Yaniv Biran, CEO of Tzofim North America, highlighted the significance of this “peer-to-peer moment” for young Israeli voices to be heard.
