Israelis fail to understand anti-Israel sentiment in the U.S., Israeli public opinion researcher says

Dahlia Scheindlin, an Israeli public opinion researcher, stated at the Aspen Security Forum that Israelis largely misunderstand the growing anti-Israel sentiment in the U.S. She noted that many Israelis believe warnings about declining U.S. support are exaggerated, with 53% still thinking the relationship "will be fine." Israelis tend to view Republicans as pro-Israel and Democrats as anti-Israel, often not recognizing the diversity of views within U.S. parties or how Israeli actions might influence U.S. criticism. Scheindlin also discussed Israeli political challenges, indicating that while the opposition holds a majority in polls, their reluctance to form a coalition with Arab parties creates an impasse for forming a government.
