Israel’s Monday.com lays off 20% of its employees as AI changes how work gets done

Monday.com, an Israeli workplace software company, is laying off approximately 620 employees, or 20% of its global workforce, including about 350 in Tel Aviv. This decision, described by co-founders Roy Mann and Eran Zinman as "the most painful decision we have made since founding Monday.com," is not aimed at cost reduction but at adapting the company's strategy and operations to the era of artificial intelligence and automation. The company is restructuring to become flatter with more autonomous teams, shifting its core vision from managing work to "doing the work with AI and not just managing it."
