Israir brings forward launch of New York flights to September 15

Israir, Israel's second-largest airline, will launch thrice-weekly flights to New York starting September 15, expanding to daily service by late October. This marks the airline's return to the route after an 18-year hiatus, having suspended service in 2008 due to rising fuel prices. The decision comes as U.S. carriers like Delta and United resume flights to Israel for the busy fall holiday season, following a period of service suspension due to the Iran war, which had caused airfares to soar. Economy fares will begin at $800 each way. With Israir's entry, five airlines will now offer direct flights between the U.S. and Israel.
